Trinitite was created during a Nuclear test blast. It's a result of the intense heat melting the sand into a lightly green tinted glass. Named for the Tinitity Bomb testing in New Mexico on July 16, 1945, samples of Trinitite are extremely rare; All but a small sample of the material was buried and made illegal to remove from the site in 1952. Our Trinitite sample is enclosed in a 4" x 5" plastic box frame as shown above suitable for display.
