An edible casing generally used to make pork sausage links or breakfast sausage. Approximately 100 yards long. Sausage Maker casings come packed in purified salt for an indefinite shelf life when refrigerated. Casings should be flushed and soaked in water before using. Salted casings have a very long shelf life when stored properly. Un-refrigerated, these salted casings quickly begin to give off a strong odor even though they are not spoiled. Put them back under refrigeration and this odor for the most part subsides. Stuffing capacity: Approximately 40 lbs. Diameter: Approximately 7/8" to 1" when stuffed
