The Freedom of Christ: Sermons on Galatians

This series of sermons, one each on the six chapters of Paulâ€™s Epistle to the Galatians, follows the model of text selectionâ€”one chapter per weekâ€”prescribed in the historic Westminster Directory. Preached over the course of the six Sundays in Lent (2005) as part of an interim pastorate, Slemmons chose this method as a way of covering large portions of Scripture with some thoroughness over a relatively compressed period of time. An example of what he terms in the Introduction â€œreiterative exposition,â€ these sermons were preached in conjunction with his designing Year D, a lectionary expansion proposal that calls for, among other things, a greater role for lectio continua and/or semi-continuous methods of text selection.
