The term "Gasser" refers to a drag racing class developed in the 1950s and 60s. These stock looking drag cars thrilled the crowds with their performance. The engine was in the normal place, but the revised front axle raised the front end and shifted the weight to the back. The full-size Ford coupe and wagon displayed a major redesign in 1957.
