Julie is a Registered Nurse, Certified Childbirth Educator and Certified Personal Trainer. She developed the Maternal Fitness Program in 1990 and for over 20 years has been teaching and developing the Tupler Technique Program for treatment of diastasis recti for women, men and children.
The Tupler Technique is the only research based program to treat a diastasis recti (see Columbia Study).

DIASTASIS REHAB LOSE YOUR MUMMY TUMMY DVD by RN, Julie Tupler is for ANY woman with a diastasis recti no matter what age. Pregnancy naturally separates a mother's outermost abdominal muscles to make room for her growing uterus. Called a diastasis, this separation doesn't fully close up in 98 percent of new moms. The larger the diastasis, the weaker the muscles and the greater chance for mom to develop back problems down the road. Of perhaps greater concern for moms, new and veteran alike, the larger the diastasis, the bigger the belly that just won't seem to go away after baby's delivery! The video is divided into 4 parts. Part 1 is the 4 steps of the Tupler Technique. This part of the program is done for the first six weeks. During this time it is recommended not to do any other exercise routine or sporting activity. Just walking or a modified jog. During this time it is important to allow the connective tissue to heal as you strengthen your abdominal muscles and learn how to use them correctly during activities of daily living. Part 2 talks about strengthening your pelvic floor muscles and the connection between your abdominal muscles and your pelvic floor. Part 3 is watched in week six of the program. This section gives you the instructions for incorporating the Tupler Technique into an exercise routine. Knowing how to do this is important to maintain all the gains you have made with the program. Part 4 is an actual exercise routine showing you how to incorporate the Tupler Technique. The Tupler Technique was originally created for pregnant women so this routine can be used during pregnancy along with the Tupler Technique Perfect Pushing DVD. There are only two modifications during pregnancy. Limit the amount of time exercising on your back and no motionless standing while exercising. Exercising seated is best.
