My Daddy Has PTSD is a simple story that follows a young boy as he learns that his combat veteran father has Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, or PTSD. The book asks the question, "What is wrong with Daddy?" and politely answers by saying, "Daddy is going through some things, but here's how we can help." Along with the character in the story, children of all ages will enjoy learning about common symptoms of PTSD.
Casey Sean Harmon spent seven years on a Unit Ministry Team in the U.S. Army, until a parachute accident left him with perminant disabilities. As a first responder both stateside and while deployed SGT Harmon witnessed the effects that PTSD has on Soldiers and their families. He wrote My Daddy Has PTSD for his son shortly after he himself was diagnosed with the disorder.
Due to ongoing symptoms, Casey has not been able to face the media to promote his book, and has in fact turned down numerous interviews. It is his prayer that he will soon overcome these symptoms enough to once again interact with his readers on social media.
