In 1898, Robert Young finished his final edition of his Bible, now called the Young's Literal Translation of the Bible. Since that time, it has been considered the most literal, accurate Bible translation made. Young's Literal Translation never became a very popular Bible edition due to the fact that it used the same style langauge as the King James Version and that Mr. Young left a lot of the verses in the same word order as it was translated in. This left his edition difficult to read at times. We decided to take this very literal, accurate translation and modernize it. We have updated the langauge to modern English and have also modernized the sentence structure to what is used today. This was done to improve the readability of the translation. We have taken great pains to make sure that our modernizing did not change the meaning of any verses or passages. With the improved readability, we feel that this translation will become very popular and widely read. This Bible will shed new light on familiar verses. In order to show how the word "you" is being used, we have added a small "P" above the different versions of "you" that are being used in a plural way. We have added a small "S" about the singular usages. This will eliminate some of the confusion of changing from "thee's" and "thou's" to "you". We think that this will help all readers. We feel that our modernizing and our indications of plural and singular usages of the word "you" will so improve the readability of this translation, that it will gain in popularity and readership. Now the Young's Literal Translation is available in a very readable form that is just as accurate and literal as the original. The Modern Young's Literal Translation will allow and help more people get a better understanding of God's Word. The Modern Young's Literal Translation will be the best addition to every Christian's library.
