KDF 55 Filtration Media for Chlorine, Heavy Metal, Bacteria, Iron Removal (1 lb.)
KDF 55 Process Media can remove up to 99% of water-soluble lead, mercury, nickel, chromium, and other dissolved metals.
KDF 55 is used to add to an existing filter tank.
KDF Process Media are high-purity copper-zinc granules that use redox (the exchange of electrons) to remove chlorine, hydrogen sulfide, water-soluble heavy metals and microorganisms from water.
KDF 55 Process Media can remove up to 99% of water-soluble lead, mercury, nickel, chromium, and other dissolved metals. All KDF Process Media forms are effective in controlling the buildup of bacteria, algae, fungi and scale, making them ideal for use in GAC beds, ion exchange resins, carbon block filters and inline carbon filters. Wherever our Media are used, they can eliminate the need for costly, and sometimes harmful, chemical treatments. KDF 55 is used to add to an existing filter tank. You can add this to any other types of filter media such as a water softener or carbon tank to remove higher levels of chlorine, bacteria, or iron. 5 lbs is usually sufficient for a 1 cu. ft. size tank system. KDF Process Media are high-purity copper-zinc granules that use redox (the exchange of electrons) to remove chlorine, hydrogen sulfide, water-soluble heavy metals and microorganisms from water. Effective? This highly-effective, patented alloy removes more than 95% of the free chlorine before it reaches your carbon bed so your carbon can concentrate on removing organics, thus extending its useful service life by up to 15 times. You'll discover yourself using less carbon and treating yourself to fewer carbon change-outs, smaller carbon beds and then smaller filters. With long-lasting, recyclable KDF Process Media, RO membranes and ion exchange resins will last longer.
