October 1987. After months on the road, Peter Gabriel s So tour drew to a close in Greece, in an open-air theatre overlooking Athens. The young singer Youssou N Dour, already a star in his native Senegal, was still relatively unknown in the world -- but his incendiary opening sets on the historic tour introduced him to thousands of Peter Gabriel fans, delighting audiences with his commanding voice and one of Africa s greatest and most nimble bands. The rest is history.

The Athens concert was recorded and filmed at the time for Peter Gabriel s POV but the blazing performance by Youssou N Dour and Le Super Etoile de Dakar has never been made available...until now.

Including a smoldering version of Immigres, which still resonates so strongly today, and a stunning duet with Gabriel on the beloved In Your Eyes, this pristine live recording captures the young tenor and his incredible band at a momentous turning point in a long and meteoric career.
