The Edelbrock Performer Intake Manifold boosts torque over a wide RPM range, from idle to 5,500 RPM. These manifolds also deliver improved throttle response over stock intakes and are available in both Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) and non-EGR styles. Fel-pro permatorque and blue intake gaskets are not used in this manifold because of their very hard, non-pliable construction. They do not compress well when used with an aluminum intake manifold. The factory composition-type embossed gasket also works satisfactorily. The manifold bolts need to be torqued down to 25 feet in most cases. When using a 12-bolt manifold on 16-bolt heads, a 16-bolt intake gasket is used to ensure proper sealing around the water ports on the heads. Many are 50-state street legal with a low-rise and dual-plane design.
