Short grain rice from the town of Calasparra in southeast Spain. Has a high level of absorbency due to its longer growth cycle, making it great with broths and sauces. This rice will take on flavors extremely well due to its super high absorption properties. Calasparra is the traditional rice in Paella, and is perfect for Spanish dishes. The rice is grown in the mountains of Murcia, Spain and is irrigated by fresh water from old Roman aqueducts. Calasparra always cooks al dente and is very difficult to overcook.
