Dustin McCord was never known for being a smart man but, when it came to brawn, he won the prize every time.
As a world champion bull rider, Dustin put his life in harm's way every day, but no one could have been more surprised than him when a bull named Mudslinger put an end to his brilliant career. Devastated as he was, Dustin is determined to prove everyone, including his doctors, wrong. He would walk again, and, even though he may never ride in another rodeo, he would set his sights on something bigger. And to Dustin, as he sat confined to a wheelchair, nothing was bigger than the nearby Cheyenne Mountain. He'd climb it, and then another, and he would keep climbing until one day he'd climbed the tallest mountain on earth.
Now, when he travels to the mountainous town of Lukla, Nepal, Dustin is teamed up with Tenzing Sherpa, a seasoned climbing guide for Mount Everest expeditions. After fifteen years of taking his clients to the summit safely, he is ranked among the top lead expedition guides in Nepal. He's proud of his career and even more so of his mountain home and culture. But as the two start out on their climb, something about the world's tallest mountain begins to bother Dustin.
He blames his discomfort on the foul weather and high altitude. But when Dustin catches a glimpse of an unexplainable creature, Tenzing's folktales of the Migoi start to become all too real. Out of curiosity and a need to disprove the old legends, Dustin makes a reckless choice and finds himself between an unmovable mountain and an inexplicable beast...and an epic battle for his life.
