Jack Leroy Wilson, Jr. (AKA Jackie Wilson) was born in Detroit, Michigan, on June 9th 1934 and he enjoyed a long and successful career as a singer from the 1950s to the 1970s. A master showman, Jackie earned the nickname 'Mr. Excitement' with his dynamic stage performances and electrifying work in the recording studios. Wilson was one of the finest early exponents of R&B and Soul, leaving a legacy which has influenced generations of performers including Michael Jackson and Prince. Music Digital.
