Who sets out to be a fool? Surely, none of us! We don’t want to embarrass ourselves by saying or doing foolish things. In fact, when we say or do foolish things, many of us mentally rehearse them over and over, and then we feel even more foolish. So, how do we make ourselves foolproof? The answer is to grow in wisdom. It's safe to say, there is no lack of supposed wisdom around us. It is offered by favorite news commentators, on social media (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter), from sports heroes and famous entertainers, in self-help books and in “Dear Abby†type newspaper columns. Knowing our need, God included Wisdom Literature in the Bible: Proverbs, Job, Ecclesiastes and the Song of Solomon. In this study, we will focus on Proverbs, the Bible’s most popular and well-known book of wisdom. Some proverbs will make you laugh; other proverbs will make you think; and yet others will stop you in your tracks. All of them will help as we try to live a foolproof life.
