Pothos (epipremnum aureum) is one of those tried &-true houseplants almost everyone has or has had. In fact, it's one of the most popular houseplants available. The traditional pothos variety is golden pothos also commonly known as devil's ivy, it features heart-shaped mid-green foliage splashed in creamy gold. If you grow this variety up a totem & give it lots of light & warmth, youâ€™ll find the leaves can grow quite large. In fact, outdoors in frost-free areas, the leaves can reach 12" wide or more. Pothos requires no special care indoors; it tolerates low light (but grows well in medium- & high-light spots, as well), low humidity, & the occasional missed watering. That said, pothos prefers moist (but not wet or saturated) soil, so it's best to water it when the top " or so of the potting mix is dry.
