Please make sure the AC adapter that is provided with the system is being used. Other AC adapters cannot be used because they can be different in specifications. This can provide too little of an energy source where it will not give enough to power the system. Or it can overpower the system to malfunction if its specifications are too high.
A protective film is in place to ensure no scratches occur to the actual LCD screen prior to reaching the customer. Be sure to remove that film for a clear view of the LCD screen and its readings.
Increasing the gain can be used to make the microphone more sensitive to picking up audio (your voice). However, it will also be sensitive to picking up all audio. This is including the background noise in your area. And if the volume on your speaker is also high then it will cause feedback. If you feel that your voice cannot be heard then opt to use the volume knobs on the system, mixer, and/or speakers to adjust instead of turning the gain to its maximum sensitivity. Also, if you have two systems then you will want to make sure that both channel A's are on different frequencies so there are no interference issues or sounds. Changing the channel can also help since there are 50 different frequencies on each side of the receiver. The channel/frequency you might be on can be incompatible with your area or even unavailable because it is already in use by another person or organization.
